Guillermo Marengo

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1969, Guillermo Marengo is a visual artist and fiction writer whose creative path has unfolded alongside a career in law and a master’s degree in communications with a focus on advertising.

Primarily self-taught, Marengo studied at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas in San Juan from 2004 to 2005, where he took courses in drawing and composition, color theory, and painting. His work moves fluidly between expressive figuration and abstraction, often characterized by bold gestures and vibrant palettes. Marengo’s preferred media include oil pastels, acrylic, and oil paint, which he uses to explore the emotional and conceptual layers of form and color.
